I’m really interested in the summer sun lately, especially as interpreted by my 50mm f/1.8. When I got my zoom lens earlier this year, I stopped taking out the prime on walks since it was so much easier to be able to zoom in and out with my 50-200mm. But I decided to change it up and go out with my prime and I remembered how wonderful it is with sunlight! I use that lens all the time for food photography, but I fell in love with it all over again when I took it outside. It’s just a reminder that I need to change things up every once in a while. It’s always nice to be surprised.

I know I probably take too many photos of flowers, so I think I’m going to try only posting flowers only on Fridays. Those pointy red things probably aren’t flowers, but I have no idea what they are so they’re going in this post.

I love how still and clear the water was that it reflected the sky so perfectly, you can hardly tell it’s reflection.

I just recently discovered this tunnel on one of my walks around the neighborhood. It goes under the main road and I’m always scared going though it because I imagine it collapsing on top of me whenever a car drives over. That’s pretty much my brain’s M.O.: always imagining the worst possible thing that could happen. It’s so much fun being me! I’ve been trying to fight back lately, so I go through the tunnel even though it scares me. I’m still working my way up to doing the bigger things that scare me, but every day that I go through this tunnel again I feel like it’s start, at least.

These were taken all the way back in May when these flowers lined pretty much my whole neighborhood. I think honeysuckle is one of my favorite smells in the whole world, so it made exercising outside much more pleasurable than usual.
