Fall is my favorite season and I feel like I didn’t really take advantage of it last year, photography-wise anyway. I’m trying to take full advantage this year, so we went and drove on the Blue Ridge Parkway two weekends ago and then last weekend we went hiking at Preddy Creek again. I think I probably took almost 1000 photos so far. So, lots of photos coming up…if I can get them all edited, that is.

I’m glad to have gotten some shots of this lovely overgrown field because the next day I walked by and it had all been mowed down. It was growing out of control, but still…makes me sad. But I know it’ll grow back again next summer. Nature always wins.

Polygonia interrogationis, AKA Question Mark Butterfly

Most of these were taken at the Ivy Creek Nature Area earlier this summer. I almost got a shot of a deer but it was too fast for me. The rabbit was kind enough to sit and let me snap a few shots of it, though.

It’s finally fall! I know this because I’m wearing a sweater right now, brr. But I still have some shots from earlier this summer that I never posted for some reason. Next week I’ll have some fall photos from a photowalk last week, but I figured I should get all of these posted first.
