My name is Emily (aka Emiline). I’m a 30 year old web designer living in Virginia with my boyfriend and two cats. I’ve always been artsy but have never really seriously studied photography (though I’ve always liked taking pictures). I upgraded to my first real DSLR in 2009 so I started this blog (well, restarted is more like it) so I can learn my new camera and hopefully become a better photographer in general. If you like food, I also have a food blog with lots of food photography, some of which will be cross-posted here.
Comments and constructive criticism are always welcome. All the pictures here are my property so please don’t steal or hotlink images. If you would like to use any of my pictures on your blog or website, I’m generally open to that sort of thing but please email me at emily [at] emiline.com and ask first.

Cameras
All pictures prior to Dec. 28th, 2009, were taken with a Kodak Z650, which was a nice, inexpensive, beginner camera. But I definitely outgrew it so I’ve upgraded to a Canon EOS 500D.

Prime: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8
Telephoto/Zoom: Sigma 50-200mm f4-5.6 (2010), Tamron 18-270 f3.5-6.3 (2011+)
